OUR BELIEFS
At Friendship Baptist Church, our beliefs are rooted in Scripture and guide every aspect of our faith and life. We are committed to living out these foundational truths as we seek to honor God, grow in faith, and serve our community. On this page, you’ll find an overview of the core doctrines that shape who we are as a church.
1
Inspiration of Scriptures
We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, given through the Holy Spirit. As the final authority for our faith and life, it guides everything we believe and do.
II Timothy 3:16 | Hebrews 4:12
2
The Triune God
We believe in one God who exists as three distinct and coequal persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:16-17 | Matthew 28:19-20 | Ephesians 2:18
3
Humanity
We believe that every person, in their natural state, is separated from God due to sin—without hope or salvation on their own.
Ephesians 2:1-2 | Romans 3:23
4
Heaven and Hell
We believe in the reality of eternal punishment for the unsaved and eternal joy for the saved. Heaven is the home of the redeemed, and hell is the place of eternal separation from God for the lost.
John 14:1-3 | Revelation 20:11-15
5
Sacraments
We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are essential sacraments of the Church that should be practiced regularly.
Acts 2:38 | Romans 6:3-10 | 1 Corinthians 10:16-21
